PROUDLY SERVING the largest township in the united states!
Since 2001, UDCOC has been providing opportunities for people of all ages through education. We continue to provide services to over 1,200 residents of all ages each year through our five core programs.
Our programs are open to all people; regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, or age.
High School Diploma Program
UDCOC is happy to offer (HiSet) the high school equivalency testing program. This program is sanctioned by the Commonwealth of PA, Department of Education. This 6 week course offers anyone looking to obtain their high school diploma the chance to do so. You are not alone! Teacher help to guide you through each subject's course material and prepare for the test.
Upper Darby is home to 88 nationalities. There are many residents who cannot speak English, and are therefore limited in their ability to get good jobs and become an integrated part of our culture. UDCOC's English as a Second Language program offers morning and evening English classes, led by competent, caring instructors, with good curriculum, creative teaching methods, and a deep desire to help these special people become comfortable and capable in English.
After School Program
After School BLAST provides a safe, supervised, academic and recreational program for students in grades 1 through 8. We focus on math and reading enrichment as well as social skills for youth at risk. Our program makes a difference for vulnerable children who might otherwise be left home alone and unsupervised while parents are at work.
Summer Day Camp
Camp provides a healthy, safe, and fun experience for 125 students over a 9 week period each summer. We serve children from different backgrounds and families, many in which both parents are absent during the day. A focus on academic enrichment helps kids get ready for school and prevent summer learning loss.
Our community health services respond to needs for neighborhood healthcare support and education. We provide immunizations, flu shots, health screenings, and more. We also offer a monthly lunch and lecture series where guest presenters speak on a variety of health topics.
